Money is not matter, still you can see the world...

I really have no idea when I entered into this kind of industry – Offshore/Maritime but still the same position as been before, Admin work. At first, I am hesitant to apply for the job opening back in Manila thru Phil. Transmarine Carriers, Inc. To make a long story short, now I’m here experiencing the beauty of God’s creation from the middle east and now employed at Technip UK which vessels sailed on North Sea and other parts of International waters . Of course before working at sea you have the opportunity to visit and see the country where the vessel is standing by or in some instances you will fly to the nearest heliport the vessel is working with. The opportunity to ride from your local transport to International airways to helicopter and onto the vessel. That’s it you are tired for a long journeys especially if your from Asian countries like Philippines.

From Edinburgh Scotland where we berthed we sail for 2 days in transit to Halden, Norway and after the long journey at sea we find the place Norway as a lovely and really fascinating place to go. As we enter the water border of Norway and Sweden you will find the huge pine trees and mountains and a lovely houses seaside. The place is so cool. As of this writing, I can’t wait to go out but due to instrict rules of the private port we berthed walking or bike riding is prohibited and you need to take a taxi from here to downtown. I hope in due time we may be able to go out from here or waiting for another time on demobilisation as we unload all the equipment that we used. You know I envy those seafarers who work at Cruise Ship specifically in Royal Carribbean International where they really see the world in over 260 worlwide destinations.
As they say, “Money matters, for you will be able to see the world,” which is applicable for the rich and famous, dignitaries, millionaires and the like. But thank God for the work I fit into and the opportunity to work in an offshore environment.

Money is not matters if you have a passion and longing to see the world. Just look for an opportunity to work with Maritime or Airline careers. Do you know that in a big cruise ship alone they employ more than thousands of crew? From galley workers to information/desk/service dept. to casino, medical and IT dept. bar, recreation, deck, engine, hotel crews to name a few. Seeing the world will not cause you a lot of money, but exciting career and the opportunity to work and mingle with different people around the world. So the next time you want to change for a career why don’t try for something you yourself can see the world and experienced the high paying job.
